I met Hans Henning at mine and Lene’s wedding at Trudsholm Estate, where he was employed as a house steward. Before the actual celebration, Lene and I had several preparatory meetings with him, and with each meeting, we grew closer. A couple of months after the wedding, we were invited for coffee at his home.
Hans Henning lives alone on a farm north of Holbæk, where he was born and has lived his entire life. The farm has a small piece of land, which helps feed the five pigs and six cows that make up his livestock, along with his dog Balder and many cats. He has always lived here, except when he served his mandatory military service as a Royal Life Guard. That time is very dear to him, and he is an active member of the Life Guards Association.
He lives by old virtues, and everyone addresses him as “Des” [a traditional Danish informal address] with Hans Henning. He doesn’t buy new things but fixes what has broken, and overall leads a frugal life, with many of his groceries “dumpster-dived” at the local co-op.
The picture was taken in his kitchen, surrounded by some of his beloved cats.

“Navigation No1”
This is the very first print in the ‘Navigation’ series, numbered ‘No1’!
The image is printed on an original danish nautical chart from the “80s”, and framed with artglass.
This print is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece with no additional editions. It is part of a series called “Navigation” yet stands alone as the only print of its kind, offering an exclusive opportunity to own this singular image.
Signed and numbered “1/1” on bottom front and comes with certificate of authenticity and crafted parchment detailing the story behind the image – presented in a black envelope with a cord closure.
This print is part of a series of images in the ‘Navigation’ collection. Each print consists of one or more images assembled into a collage, which is then printed not on photo paper, but on old, original nautical charts. The structures, symbols, and colors of the charts contribute to making each print truly unique. Although I have an idea of how the print will look when it comes out of the printer, it constantly surprises me how the final result presents itself. All the images in the collage are taken by me, including any re-photographs of existing pictures.

Rømø
Rømø 2023.
Shot on film. Used a Hasselblad medium format 6×6 camera and a Kodak Portra 400 stock.
In this photo, part of the film negative’s edge is visible, and you can see the orange numbers on the left side, indicating which film was used. Additionally, the two famous small V-shaped notches on the left edge, characteristic of Hasselblad film cameras, are also visible. These notches are left on all negatives by the camera. Surely, the “V” stands for Victor (Hasselblad), who invented the famous camera.

“Sejrøbugten” Denmark 2022
Special Edition Print. Limited edition of 5, individually numbered and signed.

This was quite a cold and windy day in January, and I didn’t really intend to take any pictures, but I had my camera slung over my shoulder, as I almost always do. I ended up taking a few pictures of the bay and the sea, and along the shoreline. After a while, the wind picked up even more, and I looked back over my shoulder towards the beach, and that’s when I saw these amazing clouds with the heavy sky, and the beach lit up with the dune grass as a contrast.
I snapped a couple of photos in the strong wind, without being sure if they would amount to anything. When I looked through the images at home, I immediately fell for this shot, and when I later saw the print finished, I could instantly tell that it was a very special picture, which I’m really happy with.
